GeoBioTool(GBT) enables QGIS users to compute biodiversity and canopy structure metrics from classified rasters and ASCII point cloud data. It calculates Shannon–Wiener (Shannon, 1948) and Simpson (Simpson, 1949) indices from land cover classifications, Foliage Height Diversity (FHD) (MacArthur & MacArthur, 1961), Rumple Index (Parker et al., 2004), Rugosity Index (Dustan et al., 2013), Leaf Area Index (LAI) & Vertical Complexity Index (VCI), and Height-Matrix metrics (zmean, zmax, zmin) from point files. Suitable for biodiversity assessment, ecological monitoring, nature-positive planning, and vertical vegetation analysis.
GeoBioTool(GBT) is a biodiversity analysis plugin powered by Invalab. Vision: Adding Nature, Realizing Nature-Positive. Mission: Re-building nature capital from intangible value into investable asset. We're unlocking the hidden value 'X' from life of earth. Now with diversity indices plus FHD, Rumple, Rugosity, LAI/VCI and Height-Matrix analysis.
